Media Release: North-east firm recruits eggs and toys for local charity

Genesis Personnel - CLIC Sargent donation 3

A LEADING North-east recruitment firm has surprised a local charity with an ‘egg-citing’ delivery  for Easter.

Genesis Personnel, which has offices in Aberdeen and Peterhead, has completed a good deed this Easter, hand-delivering a large package of chocolate eggs and soft toys to children and teenagers at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, for the second year in a row.

The recruitment firm, which was first launched in 1975, worked on the Easter initiative with staff, clients, candidates, and suppliers and managed to collect more than 500 eggs and toys for the hospital, which is supported by CLIC Sargent, the leading cancer charity for children and young people and their families.

Says a spokesperson: “CLIC Sargent, which was formed out of a merger of two long-standing children’s charities in 2005, is currently supporting over 30 children in Aberdeen and Grampian who are undergoing treatment.

“More than 4,000 families across the UK are told their child has cancer every year, and CLIC Sargent offers care and support at diagnosis, during treatment and throughout their recovery.”

Sales and recruitment manager at Genesis Personnel, Moira Murawiecka, said: “This is the second year that we have run our Easter initiative and we are delighted that we managed to collect so many treats for the children and young adults at the hospital.

“Our staff, clients, candidates, and suppliers were very generous and it was great to see the children’s faces light up when we delivered the Easter goodies.

“As a business, we always like to support local charities and small initiatives like these are very gratifying as we can see how excited and happy the patients are when they receive their parcel.”

Fundraising manager, North East Scotland & Shetland for CLIC Sargent, Holly Taylor, said: “I am thrilled with the support from Genesis Personnel and would like to say a huge thank you to them and everyone who donated eggs and toys.

“Easter is an exciting time for children and I think that some of the kids in the hospital can feel a little left out of all the fun so receiving all of the treats from Genesis at the hospital will have really made their Easter.”
