Our Readership

Every day, hundreds of journalists visit allmediascotland.com seeking out stories posted as media releases by you. What also keeps bringing them back is must-read news about their industry and colleagues.

Also, the site is easily found by internet search engines. You could pay thousands of pounds for 'search engine optimisation'; with allmediascotland.com, it is all part of the service. Check for yourself: take a keyword from any of the media releases already on the site and go to Google News.

Here is a snapshot: A review conducted on March 19 2011, at 12:01, of ten of the most recent media releases posted on allmediascotland.com produced the following Google News search rankings (obviously, the older the release, the more likely it will appear further down the ranking):

1. Searched for ‘Robbie Coltrane’ - this (dated March 18, 17:06) appeared No.1.

2. Searched for ‘offshore wind’ - this (dated March 18, 15:07) appeared No.1, among a group of headlines.

3. Searched for ‘photography award’ - this (dated March 18, 14:52) appeared No.5.

4. Searched for ‘Scots language’ - this (dated March 18, 12:04) appeared at No.1.

5. Searched for ‘industrial services’ - this (dated March 18, 11.43) appeared at No.2.

6. Searched for ‘Mothers’ Day’ - this (dated March 18, 08:22) did not appear on page one.

7. Searched for ‘Nevis Range’ - this (dated March 17, 11.05) appeared at No.1, in a group of three.

8. Searched for ‘Holyrood elections’ - this (dated March 17, 10:09) appeared at No.6.

9. Searched for ‘tidal energy’ - this (dated March 17, 09:05) did not appear on the front page.

10. Searched ‘cosmetic clinic’ - this (dated March 16, 20.30) appeared at No.1.

Says Google Analytics: Between February 11 and March 13 this year, there were 55,669 unique visitors to allmediascotland, resulting in 122,337 page views.

For fairly obvious reasons, journalists often welcome having the time to work on a story that is provided by a media release being embargoed. For many local newspaper journalists, for instance, an embargoed media release can helpfully bridge the 24 hours or more that separates their editorial deadline from the publication date. Steadily, allmediascotland.com is accepting requests from bona fide journalists to access a dedicated Embargo Box, where post-dated releases sit until it's time for them to go 'live'. And it's only bona fide journalists who are being given access.

Testimonials
