Press Equivalent of Ryder Cup Invite to Hacks

If you’re a hack and you play golf, the press equivalent of the Ryder Cup wants to hear from you.

The Ailsa Cup is played for by journalists from Europe and the USA, and this year it is taking place at Turnberry, in Ayrshire.

Five years old, the tournament used to be called the Kintyre Cup, but it has been renamed ahead of Turnberry hosting the Open next year.

And two places are up for grabs, to Scottish journalists. But you’ll have to be quick: the event is taking place next week.

The match might also make an interesting sports diary story.
