Lyons again shortlisted for wine writers’ award

THE wine correspondent for Scotland on Sunday newspaper has been shortlisted in this year’s prestigious Louis Roederer International Wine Writers’ Awards.

Will Lyons was nominated for his weekly wine column in the paper’s Spectrum magazine.

He has been shortlisted in the regional wine writer category and joins a wealth of well-known names on the shortlists, including Master of Wine, Jancis Robinson, The Observer’s Tim Atkin, Hugh Johnson, and The Independent’s Anthony Rose.

It’s the third year in a row that Lyons, who began writing his column for Scotland on Sunday three years ago, has been shortlisted for a wine writers award having been nominated, two years ago, for the Glenfiddich Wine Writer of the Year, and, last year, the Louis Roederer’s.

Glasgow-based Tom Cannavan has also been nominated in the online category for his website, www.wine-pages.com.
