Sunday Post Capitalises on Cartoon Characters

For many Scots, the Sunday Post – which is celebrating its 90th birthday this week – is synonymous with its cartoon characters, Oor Wullie and The Broons, and their famous cry: ‘Jings, crivvens and help ma Boab’.

These characters made their first appearance in the paper on March 8 1936, and their 70th anniversary was celebrated far and wide three years ago.
