PUBLIC relations consultancy, Weber Shandwick, has announced two appointments to boost its public relations and public affairs team in Edinburgh.
Ex-Grampian TV reporter and Scottish Water senior press and PR officer, John MacNeil, joins as an account director. John has more than ten years’ experience in journalism and PR. He has previously been communications manager for VisitScotland and a reporter with the West Highland Free Press.
Meanwhile, Ross Hornsey has been taken on as an account manager, having previously worked for public affairs consultancies, PPS Group and APCO Scotland, and the Scottish Executive Health department.
Says Weber Shandwick Scotland managing director, Nora Farrell: “John and Ross join us at a time when we have seen the client list grow with new client wins and organic growth through new projects. Their particular areas of expertise will be an asset to strengthen our offering and provide senior counsel to clients.”
Last week, the company was shortlisted for six Chartered Institute of Public Relations (Scotland) awards, Scotland’s leading public relations competition. It has four offices in Scotland: in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness.
