Schedule change for talk107

WHEN staff at the all-speech radio station for Edinburgh, Fife and the Lothians, talk107, were given a pep talk by bosses last week, the message was that there would be no changes to the station.

That said, as of this morning, the schedule has changed. The breakfast slot is cut by an hour, ending at 9am, with the other programmes shunting forward 60 minutes.

Owners, UTV, are also promising more more resources for the only all-talk station outside of London, which has 16,000 listeners according to the latest listenership figures, issued by RAJAR.

With senior management in London saying they are not alarmed, the schedule change is being presented as minor tweak rather than a reaction to the poor figures.

The only casualty after the first six months of broadcasting is Graham Stewart, whose afternoon slot has been taken by former night-time host, Micky Gavin.
