Deputy editorship for McCabe

THE assistant editor at the Aberdeen Evening Express has been promoted to deputy editor, following the departure of the previous incumbent, to become editor of the Dundee Evening Telegraph.

Alan McCabe succeeds Richard Prest whose appointment at the Evening Telegraph was announced just before Christmas. The 31 year-old joined the newspaper as a trainee reporter in 14 years ago, before moving to the Daily Record as a sports writer.

He returned to the Evening Express six years ago and, as well as being assistant editor, he has also been the paper’s chief sub-editor.
