Free Food Offer Being Made to Festival Reviewers by City Centre Restaurant

Making sure bloggers and journalists are well refreshed for covering the hundreds of shows at the Edinburgh Festival, one of the city's restaurants is offering free food and drink to reviewers.

Says a spokesperson for Mexican restaurant, Illegal Jacks: “Thousands of press and bloggers hit the city during the busy month and can often be unsure where to go for a quality but inexpensive meal. But everyone is welcome here.”

To qualify for free food, the bloggers and journalists must email illegaljacks@contently-managed.com, passing on their details, agreeing to review the restaurant and picking a date to go in.

Adds chef, Jack Grills: “Covering the festival is hungry work and it can be hard to work out where to go, so we wanted to let the press and bloggers know that they are more than welcome here. We'll happily feed them some chicken wings and a main dish as well as a soft drink to keep them going.

“They can even file copy from here as we're in the process of installing free wifi.

“All we ask in return are some reviews, letting us know what they thought of the venue, staff and food.”

The restaurant is located on 113-117 Lothian Road. The free food offer covers all the food on the menu except desserts and the free drink offer is limited to carbonated soft drinks. One serving per member of press and attendance must be agreed beforehand. The offer runs until the fourth of next month.
