Evening News takes ‘step back in time’ by resurrecting Spot the Ball competition

IN the wake of the weekend football derby between Hibernian and Hearts, local evening newspaper, the Edinburgh Evening News, is take a ‘step back in time’ by resurrecting the much-loved Spot the Ball competition.

This time around, readers will be invited peruse not one (as in the past) but two photographs – one involving Hibs, the other Hearts – to guess where the (digitally-removed) ball is.

In the past, readers would cut out the photograph from their newspaper and send it off with their guess an ink cross. Readers now have to choose a grid reference where they think the ball is and text in their answer – at 50p per text.

Fifty pounds’ worth of sponsor, Tesco vouchers go to the winners of each of the competitions.
