Journalist mentors required to assist in reporting of Commonwealth Youth Summit

EXPERIENCED journalists are being sought to mentor a group of young people taking part in an event where they will debate important global issues including health, education and poverty.

Over 100 14-18 year-olds from throughout Scotland will meet in Glasgow on the 21st and 22nd of this month for the Commonwealth Youth Summit, organised by the Royal Commonwealth Society, in conjunction with Glasgow City Council.

Journalists are asked to volunteer their services to help a group of six or seven students compile a media report of the two-day conference. Volunteers will be required to attend the final debate at City Chambers on the 22nd, and mentor the media team, assisting them in producing a newspaper article, radio report or short video.
