Some of the Scottish media fraternity may be a pound or too poorer today after racehorse, Picture Editor, failed to deliver the goods while competing in the IBA Cocked Hat Stakes at Goodwood yesterday.
The colt had been hotly tipped by a number of news papers’ pundits including The Ferret in The Courier, Dundee, under the heading, ‘Editor in the Picture’, and White and Gold in the Scottish edition of The Times under the heading, ‘Picture Editor in the frame’.
There is now some doubt as to whether the colt, which has looked a possible star for trainer, Henry Cecil, will run in the Derby.
However, if media folk are still looking for currently good performers – buoyed by the success of the jobless Scottish punter who on Tuesday scooped £353,000 for a £1 bet, after picking seven winning horses – then keep your eye on Digital Media and Communicator which are currently both on winning streaks.
The Scottish winner, a father of two – who wishes to remain anonymous – staked just 50p each way at overall odds of 706,128-1.
