Recruitment ads point to restructuring and posts at risk of redundancy

A RAFT of recruitment adverts on allmediascotland.com from Clyde and Forth Press is because of a restructuring of the company’s Clyde Weekly Press division, which has involved four editors being placed at risk of redundancy and being invited to apply for five newly-created roles.

The roles are production editor, news editor, head of digital, head of sport and chief sub-editor.

The editors are at the Helensburgh Advertiser, Dumbarton Reporter, Clydebank Post and The Gazette and Barrhead News.

Says¬†Craig Jackson, editorial manager at Clyde Weekly Press:¬†“This is an immensely exciting and ambitious time for Clyde Weekly Press. The new model we’re introducing maximises the number of people we have working on content for our titles while providing a streamlined production desk where a group of dedicated staff will work across the board on all of CWP’s titles both digitally and in print. We want to source the best content, pictures and intelligent opinion for our readers – who are at the heart of everything we do – and believe investing in our team is the best way to achieve this.”
