Regan Expresses Degree of Kinship with Football Reporters

The head of the Scottish Football Association expressed a degree of kinship with football journalists, during a major media briefing yesterday.

Stewart Regan, the SFA's chief executive, was speaking after his organisation's annual general meeting.

In today's Herald reporting of Regan's briefing – featuring a large picture across pages 4 and 5 of the paper's sports supplement, showing Regan speaking to group of Scotland's top football reporters – Michael Grant quotes him as saying: “Of course I get frustrated when I get the police giving me advice on how to behave in Scotland, given the culture we operate in, and I get frustrated when people send me inappropriate emails and messages.

“But I've learned to live with that and put it down to experience. I know some of you get the same abuse so that kind of makes it a bit easier.”
