Glasgow 2014 chooses Pitch to promote Commonwealth Games

A PR agency that includes the likes of Red Bull and Heineken among its clients has been taken on to help promote next year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Pitch is described by Glasgow 2014 as “one of the UK’s leading sports communications consultancies, with a wealth of experience delivering high-profile campaigns for sponsors, rights holders, governing bodies and major international sports events such as London 2012.”.

Says a Glasgow 2014 media release: “Working in collaboration with the communications and marketing team at Glasgow 2014, the agency will play a key role in sharing the rich diversity of stories and opportunities offered by the world-class sporting platform that is next year’s Commonwealth Games.

“Core campaigns in the run-up to the Games will include supporting Glasgow 2014’s ticketing programme which kicks off with the publication of the ticketing brochure on July 23, which is exactly one year to go until the opening ceremony. The formal application phase for tickets launches on August 19, 2013.”

The release adds: “Shortlisted for Agency of the Year and winner of ‘Best Use of PR in a Sport Campaign’ at this year’s Sports Industry Awards, Pitch works with brands Heineken and Red Bull; major events including London 2012; sports properties such as  UEFA and NBA; and media clients Channel 4 and BT Sport. “
