Law training for journalists – post-Leveson/McCluskey – scheduled for Glasgow

TRAINING on the how the Leveson Inquiry might impact on journalists is being offered in Glasgow later this month.

The course – Law for Journalists in Scotland, post-Leveson/McCluskey – follows the publication last year of recommendations by Lord Leveson, following his inquiry into Press standards, and a subsequent set of recommendations of an ‘expert panel’ chaired by Lord McCluskey as to how the recommendations might apply to Scotland.

It is taking place on September 28 and is being hosted by the National Union of Journalists.

Says the NUJ: “This course is being funded through the Scottish Government and the European Social Fund (ESF) and is being offered at no cost to learners. Anyone interested in booking should contact as soon as possible. Full course outlines together with details of all professional skills courses can be obtained from the website”
