Blackley latest of Edinburgh Evening News reporters to loin the Scottish Daily Mail

THE Scottish Daily Mail has recruited its third Council Reporter from the Edinburgh Evening News in a row, with the appointment of current incumbent, Michael Blackley, to the post of political correspondent.

Blackley is to succeed his predecessor at the Edinburgh title, Andrew Picken, who is moving from political correspondent at the Scottish Daily Mail to become political editor of the Scottish Mail on Sunday.

Picken is taking over from Michael Tait, who is moving to the Scottish Conservatives as their director of media.

Making up the trio is political correspondent, Alan Roden, who has been appointed into the new post of political editor.

Scottish Daily Mail editor, Chris Williams, told allmediascotland.com: “Alan and Andrew have been a strong combination on the Daily Mail and Mike Tait’s departure is an ideal chance to give them both new responsibilities.”
