Media Release: Murray mania at Loch Leven

TO celebrate Andy Murray booking his place into the semi-finals, staff at Loch Leven’s Larder are swapping serving trays for rackets to get into the tennis spirit over the Wimbledon season.

This weekend will see the Larder team ditch their aprons for tennis outfits in a bid to spur on the UK champ, who is from the Perthshire area.

The family-run restaurant, farm and gift shop, based near Kinross, is creating tennis fever in the Larder to show visitors that they don’t need to go to ‘Murray Mound’ to get a taste of Wimbledon this summer.

Emma Niven, head of business at Loch Leven’s Larder, said:

“The next fortnight is all about Andy Murray at Loch Leven’s Larder. From scrumptious strawberry delights to creating your own tennis-themed picnic, the Larder is the place to get your Wimbledon fix.

“We are massive supporters of Andy and hope that as many of our customers as possible will join us by getting into the spirit of things and encouraging him through the semis and into the final.”

The Larder is also offering a free punnet of strawberries to anyone who shares their full name with Andy until 4th July.

Perthshire’s hidden gem, Loch Leven’s Larder, boasts a restaurant that features a stunning menu using some of the finest seasonal ingredients, grown and served at their best by the Larder’s chefs. It is also perfectly situated so diners can enjoy the beautiful views of the Loch.

The Larder offers a delightful mix of Scottish, Norwegian and European influenced gifts, boasting a range of own label products in store including; an everyday range featuring oatcakes, rice, dried fruit and nuts, a home-grown range featuring bread and eggs and a heavenly range of confectionery including; Belgian chocolates, marzipan fruits and clootie dumpling fudge.

Easily accessible from Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee – visitors don’t need to go far to experience the hidden gem during Wimbledon, as the Larder is right on the Perthshire doorstep.
