Robinson made new station director at Radio Tay

A FORMER producer and presenter at Radio Tay is returning to the station – this time as station director.

Gary Robinson returns to the station following a nine-year absence, most recently as MD of Kerrang!, winner this year of the ‘Station of the year’ award, at arguably the radio industry’s most prestigious competition – the Sony Radio Awards – held in May.

Based in the English Midlands, the rock music station is owned by Radio Tay owners, Bauer Media.

Robinson’s first spell at Radio Tay lasted ten years. He succeeds Ally Ballingall who has recently been made managing director of all Bauer’s AM stations in Scotland, which recently started pooling programmes.

Said Robinson: “I am looking forward to leading the hugely talented team at Radio Tay and returning to Dundee.

“Tay has a rich journalistic and programming heritage and my immediate focus will be to build on the current success of the station across all platforms.

“We are part of the fabric of the community and I’ll be exploring ways to deepen our commercial partnerships and deliver new and exciting ways to engage with our listeners.”
