Figures suggest UK film in fine fettle

UK cinema appears to be as healthy as it has ever been, according to production, revenue and cinema-going figures just released.

In its look back at last year, the UK Film Council found that not only do British films account for a record-breaking third of takings in the UK, but that one in four people in the UK go to the cinema at least once a month.

What’s more, the top 20-performing UK films are reported to have grossed $3.3 billion worldwide last year.
