A Christmas Carol written by a former BBC Radio Scotland producer has been sung by an estimated 450-plus choirs around the world, some 30 years after it was penned.
Dougie Campbell was 13 years-old when he wrote It's Christmas Day, which was then performed by pupils at Balfron Primary School and released as a single to family and friends.
However, after putting up an illustrated version of the song on YouTube two years ago, Campbell – who was also a DJ on Radio Scotland and has worked on other Scots radio stations – has been inundated with requests from choirs to perform it.
He does not charge for it to be performed. The biggest demand has been from choirs in the USA.
