'Sceptical' Business Journalism Website Relaunched by Freelancer

A website promising a sceptical perspective on business and financial stories has been re-launched by a well-known Scots business journalist.

The site is run by business freelancer, Ian Fraser, whose credits include The Herald, BBC News, the Sunday Times Scotland, the Economist, The Independent and the Financial Times.

He told allmediascotland.com: “The overall aim of the site is to provide readers with a more objective and unbiased view of business, finance and economics than is available in most mainstream media outlets. Where justified, the tone, particularly of the blog posts, tends towards scepticism and is critical of certain banks, financial services firms and professional services firms.

The relaunched site was designed and built by Scottish Borders-based Wired Nomad, but continues to use the WordPress platform as when the site was launched by Glasgow-based Stream Media in July three years ago.

Fraser's own reporting style tends to be investigative, including fraud stories.

He said of the site: “The redesign, by Steve Douglas of Wired Nomad, sees the introduction of new interactive features including a 'tag cloud' and a 'twitter stream'. The aim was to refresh the site and make it easier for readers to share blog posts and articles via social networking platforms including LinkedIn, twitter, Facebook, Digg, Delicious and Google Buzz – over and above the existing well-used comments facility.”
