Document Scotland
Document Scotland was formed in 2012 and current members are Sophie Gerrard, Colin McPherson, Margaret Mitchell and Craig Easton. The collective have exhibited extensively in Scotland and internationally, including having landmarks shows at Impressions Gallery, Bradford (2014), Street Level Photoworks, Glasgow (2014), the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh (2015-16), Festival Celtique, Lorient (2017) and the Staatliches Museen, Berlin (2022). They have initiated and run socially-engaged projects and events involving communities in Argyll and Shetland and with refugees in the Highlands. They stage regular live events showcasing their own work and that of other photographers in Scotland and elsewhere. They have published newspapers and catalogues detailing their photography and Document Scotland’s website (www.documentscotland.com) is considered to be one of the most important resources about contemporary photography in this country.
