Media release: Judges limber up for the World Champion Scotch Pie Awards

THE  judges of the 20th World Championship Scotch Pie Awards have started limbering up for a long day of product perusal – a day that will see them select the World Champion Scotch Pie.

Venue: Carnegie Conference Centre, Halbeath Road, Dunfermline, KY11 8DY

Date: Tuesday Wednesday 14th November 2018

Press are invited at 11.15am for interviews and a photo call.

Butchers and bakers throughout the land are hard at work this week creating their entries into the most prestigious pie competition in the world and on Wednesday 14th November the judges will gather to decide which is the best in the land.

This years’ bumper crop of entries includes a wide range of ‘products at their peak’ with accolades on offer for the best:

Scotch Pie

Football pies and savouries

Macaroni pie

Steak pie

Sausage roll

Cold savoury

Hot savoury

Vegetarian savoury

Haggis savoury

Bridie

Apple pie

The winner will be announced at a prestigious luncheon on 15th January 2019 at the Westerwood Hotel, Cumbernauld.
