Media release: Stateside brings the outside inside at Merchant Square

THE opening of the new Stateside Bar and Kitchen brings the outside inside at Merchant Square, in the heart of Glasgow’s historic Merchant City.

Stateside is designed to make the most of Merchant Square’s covered courtyard that brings the outside in.

Featuring a popular bar area where customers can enjoy a rack of ribs with a pint or enjoy a chat over a cocktail on high stools whilst overlooking the courtyard whilst, inside, the restaurant’s Texan American menu features a range of meats, burgers, chicken wings, racks of ribs and salad dishes.

David Disbrowe, general manager, Stateside Bar and Kitchen, said: “We’re bringing some real home-grown American cuisine to Glasgow at last, along with some fantastic offers throughout the week, micro-brewed American classics such as Blue Moon and Anchor Steam Beer marries beautifully with a rack of ribs or our atomic wings, we even have our very own version of Bob Dylan playing acoustic sets at the weekend!

“We’re constantly thinking outside of the box to bring some unique ideas to the dining experience, whether it is ringing the tip bell, trying the suicide wing challenge or sipping a Lynchburg Lemonade watching the baseball, we want our customers to remember their visit to Stateside.”

Located on Candleriggs in the Merchant City, Glasgow’s cultural, fashion and food quarter, Merchant Square offers an eclectic selection of restaurants and cafes.

Once part of the old Glasgow Fruit Market, Merchant Square is imbued with the history of the area’s dominating Victorian architecture, although today this sense of history blends seamlessly with the distinctly cosmopolitan ambiance that pervades the surrounding cobbled streets that bring the outside in.
