Media Release: Gannet, trotters, testicles and Brewhaha teas

THE Taste of Scotland news blog provides an array of food related snippets from the world of Scottish Cuisine.

The blog is a new venture for the well-established ‘Taste-of-Scotland.com’ restaurant directory.

In recent years, the directory has widened to cover food producers, farmers markets and farm shops.

The blog compliments the directory with eye catching news items, including Tom Kitchin’s campaign for ‘nose to tail’ cuisine.

Other highlights included bottled Scottish seawater, cooking with gannets and Brewhaha’s success in the US tea market

Owner, Graham Metcalfe, is quoted as saying: “The web site was originally intended as a restaurant directory where visitors from the UK and abroad could find places guaranteed to serve traditional ‘taste-of-scotland’ menus.

“Today, Scotland has a thriving restaurant scene, reflecting innovation as well as traditional values.

“The demand by Scottish chefs for the best of locally-sourced produce is helping establish a host of new suppliers and producers.

“Small suppliers armed with good produce and well designed web sites are establishing steady outlets both at home and abroad.

“We want to showcase this new talent and use the web to spread the word.”

Intent on showcasing restaurants and food producers who reflect traditional or contemporary Scottish cuisine Taste-of-Scotland.co.uk is actively seeking contributions from cub reporters and food writers who might wish to share their insights into the latest trends or innovations in Scotland’s food scene.
