A WILD food feast is set to be dished up this Saturday as part of Falkand Estate’s Autumn Harvest events programme which is being run as part of the UN’s International Year of the Forests celebrations, supported by Forestry Commission Scotland.
The event, which has been cooked up by Slow Food Fife, will be served up in the glorious surroundings of Falkland Estate and will include local delicacies found in the forests of Fife such as wild mushrooms, rabbit, and Newburgh plums.
Slow Food Fife is part of the international eco-gastronomic Slow Food movement which was founded in Italy in 1989.
Slow Food is all about celebrating, enjoying and promoting food that is good, clean and fair.
The menu has been prepared by local chef, Stella Colleluori, from Hatters Catering and gathered by local foraging expert, Tony Wilson, from Fife Coast and Countryside Trust.
The meal will be followed by an illustrated talk by Emma Chapman, of the Scottish Wild Harvest Association.
