TRATTORIA Fanelli’s in Merchant Square, in the heart of Glasgow’s historic Merchant City, has launched a series of classes offering aspiring chefs a chance to learn how to create a classic Italian-style pizza.

Taking place on the restaurant balcony overlooking Merchant Square, Fanelli’s experienced chef will demonstrate how to create the perfect pizza dough, as well as other cooking techniques such as rolling and classic topping combinations.

Fiona Robertson, manager at Fanelli’s said: “Following a demonstration, participants in our pizza-making classes will be able to put their skills to the test and roll their own dough, before choosing from a selection of delicious toppings.

“There is a variety of packages available, with all including an opportunity to enjoy your creations during the class – making it the perfect Christmas present for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine.”

Pricing starts from £26.50 per person, including the class, demonstration of pizza making, the chance to make your own pizza and enjoying your pizza with side orders of garlic bread and salad.

At the end of the class, participants will receive a recipe sheet to take away and create their own pizzas at home.

Discounted group bookings for parties up to 22 people are available

Fanelli’s offers a casual dining experience, where customers can relax with family and friends.

Priding itself on serving a classic Italian style menu, Fanelli’s rustic selection is enhanced by the use of locally sourced, seasonal produce which is reflected in its ever-changing specials board.

The restaurant uses simple fresh ingredients, prepared and cooked with true Italian passion.

Located on Candleriggs at the heart of the Merchant City, Glasgow’s cultural, fashion and food quarter, Merchant Square offers an eclectic selection of restaurants and cafes.

Once part of the old Glasgow Fruit Market, Merchant Square is imbued with the history of the area’s dominating Victorian architecture, although today this sense of history blends seamlessly with the distinctly cosmopolitan ambiance that pervades the surrounding cobbled streets that bring the outside in.
