IT’S chop-chop every week day lunch time at The Chophouse Brasserie at Merchant Square in the Merchant City from this week as the newly-opened restaurant introduces an express lunch menu to cater for the demands of busy business executives.

Available Monday to Friday from 12 till 2pm, The Chophouse’s new express lunch menu offers a selection of main courses for just £5.95 – with a promise of being served within 15 minutes of your order being taken or eat for free!

Featured mains dishes are: two smoked haddock and bacon fishcakes; beef olives; beef bourguignon; beer battered fish and chips and stuffed Portobello mushrooms.

The Chophouse Brasserie proprietor, Julie Walters, said: “Today’s hectic city centre office workers are often too busy to indulge in long leisurely lunches during the working week – but that doesn’t mean they have to compromise on the quality of their lunch.

“Our express lunch menu has been created specifically to cater for their requirements, offering a delicious selection of freshly prepared meals – without the wait!”

In addition to its express lunch menu, The Chophouse has introduced a lunchtime offering of a starter and main course for £7.95, available seven days a week from 12 till 4pm and an early dinner option of a starter, main course and dessert from £11.50 from Monday till Thursday from 4pm till 6.30pm and Friday and Sunday from 4pm till 6pm.

Lunch and early dinner menus feature starters of: chicken liver pate; pan fried mushrooms; smoked haddock and bacon fishcake; fresh soup of the day and ‘fall off the bone’ baby back ribs.

The mains are: moules mariniere; haggis neeps and tatties; The chophouse burger; grilled chicken burger; beef olive; stuffed Portobello mushrooms; beef bourguignon; pork chops; beer battered fish and chips; grilled salmon; steak and chips and a fillet steak in a brioche bun.

Meanwhile, the desserts available are: banana and toffee pudding; apple crumble; sticky toffee pudding; bread and butter pudding; chocolate brownie; chocolate sundae; today’s cheesecake; lemon posset and a cheeseboard.

Bringing 1930s New York-style dining into the very heart of Glasgow’s cultural, fashion and food quarter, The Chophouse Brasserie is a classic steakhouse and brasserie for discerning diners serving up a mouth-watering selection of fresh, home-cooked food at affordable prices.
