IL Pavone Sud in The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns has been shortlisted in the best pasta category in the inaugural Scottish Italian Awards.

Over the coming weeks the popular restaurant will now be visited in secret by the award judges, including celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, to taste for themselves Il Pavone Sud’s delicious fresh pasta dishes.

Manager, Carlos De Marco, said: “At Pavone Sud, we pride ourselves on using only the freshest ingredients to achieve first-class Italian cuisine from authentic pizza and pasta to fresh seafood.

“Whilst we offer traditional pastas, we also offer contemporary pastas with a more modern twist. Amongst our most popular pasta dishes are penne contadina and linguine pescatora – but all our pasta dishes are renowned for their quality and taste.

Il Pavone Sud has an excellent reputation for its exceptional Italian food and service. Last year it was named best eatery at feastRen, East Renfrewshire’s Food and Drink Festival.

The Scottish Italian award winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at The Hilton in Glasgow on Sunday 10th November.
