NASREEN Aksi, a former Scottish Asian Businesswoman of the Year, has opened a new Indian restaurant above her popular Italian Bistro in Glasgow’s West End.

Called The Indian Platform, a name inspired by its location, which originally housed Kelvinside Railway Station, the new restaurant introduces high-quality Indian cuisine to this part of the West End for the first time.

Nas said: “Glaswegians are renowned for their love for both Italian and Indian cuisine, so it’s great to be able to offer both from the same building!

“The Indian Platform has its own kitchen and dedicated chef who is introducing a range of fresh tandoori and speciality dishes to this part of the West End.

“Our diners will enjoy a taste of exotic Indian cuisine in a fresh and luxurious environment inspired by the building’s railway heritage.”

Whilst The Indian Platform’s menu includes an extensive tandoori selection, including such dishes as: murgh tikka; tandoori jhinga and tandoori machi, its house specialities include: murgh palakdaar; roshan lal; ginger chicken and saag; keema mutter; karahi king prawns; lamb rogan josh; biryani; machi masala and south Indian chilli garlic chicken.

Set back from the main road and sheltered by trees, The Indian Platform is located in a distinctive and stylish historic building on Glasgow’s Great Western Road, providing a stylish and contemporary dining atmosphere. Originally home to Kelvinside Railway Station, the charming building is of a finely detailed Italianate villa style.

Located directly above The Italian Bistro, The Indian Platform offers an 80 cover restaurant, a private bar and a large sun terrace. Tables can be booked now by calling 0141 339 5575.
