Aberdeen-Born Twins Leave Newspaper Industry for Church Ministry

An Aberdeen-born graphic designer with an English newspaper publisher is giving up his job of 17 years to become a Baptist minister – as his identical twin brother in Aberdeen prepares to do the same at Aberdeen Journals Ltd.

Archant Norfolk employee, James Paton, will become a minister in Ipswich, while his brother, Scott, who works as a graphic designer at the Press and Journal regional morning in Aberdeen, is studying for a similar church role.

The jobs switch story is revealed on the HoldTheFrontPage media website which reports that the 45 year-olds both decided on a change in career a few years ago – with James studying for ministry at the Suffolk Preachers Seminary in his spare time for four years, while Scott went part-time in his newspaper job to study at the Scottish Baptist College.
