Scottish Student Press Competition Announces Shortlist

An one-week internship at The Herald newspaper awaits each of the category winners from a student press awards competition being organised by the newspaper and which has announced its shortlist of contenders.

This is the 15th annual Scottish Student Press Awards, with the winners due to be announced a week today.

While the winner of each category will receive a one-week internship with The Herald, the person chosen as Student Journalist of the Year will receive a four-week placement.

It's understood the finalists in the Best Photographer category will have the honour of having their work exhibited at The Lighthouse – the venue for the awards ceremony – until next month. 

The shortlist reads:
