Cathro picks another winner

THE race for promotion to football’s Scottish Premierleague could not have finished more dramatically on Saturday.

Only with the last kick of the game did Gretna secure their place, at the expense of St Johnstone, whose players briefly believed the spoils were theirs.

And on hand to capture the amazing scenes was an independent TV production company.

Next week, on BBC Scotland, tune in to watch a documentary about Gretna’s remarkable season, made by Edinburgh-based Hand-Pict Productions.

That’s the same Hand-Pict Productions behind two other documentaries about Gretna, shown last season, and coinciding with the club again winning promotion and also reaching the final of the Scottish Cup.

Hand-Pict owner, George Cathro, obviously has something of a Midas Touch.

There is apparently no truth in the rumour that Hand-Pict has been approached by local SPL club, Hibernian FC, with a request his company track their efforts in next season’s Scottish Cup.

P.S. Hibs last won the Cup in 1902. Cathro is fan of Hibs’ rivals, Hearts.

P.P.S. The programme is being broadcast on BBC 2 Scotland, on Tuesday, from 9pm.
