Fraser fears for The Scotsman following latest circulation and financial figures

A DOWNBEAT assessment of The Scotsman’s fortunes has been penned by the BBC Scotland business and economy editor, in the wake of the latest official newspaper circulation figures.

Writes Douglas Fraser, circulation falls at The Scotsman and its sister titles, Scotland on Sunday and the Edinburgh Evening News, are a particular cause for concern, not least because of what he considers to be less-than-encouraging financial results (also announced last week) from the titles’ publisher, Johnston Press.
